Error Fix: Trail not sending emails in Gmail

After certain Chrome or Windows updates, the “Send Email” button in Trail may stop functioning as expected. This typically occurs because Chrome is no longer recognising Gmail as the default email handler for mail links.

How to Fix the Issue

1. Open Google Chrome and enter the following into the address bar:

   chrome://settings/handlers

2. Ensure the following setting is enabled:

   • “Sites can ask to handle protocols” should be turned on.

3. Close Chrome completely, then reopen it.

4. Go to your Mortgage Lab Gmail inbox. You should see a prompt asking something similar to:

   “Allow Gmail to open all email links?”

5. Click Allow when prompted.

Expected Outcome

Once these steps are complete, clicking the “Send Email” button in Trail should correctly open a new Gmail message, ready for you to compose and send.
